The Challenge

Dungeons & Dragons wanted to bring together new, old, and never-before D&D gamers at the largest gaming convention in Europe, and connect them to the game beyond their living room.

The Solution

As the Mt. Rushmore of role-playing games, with a dedicated fanbase and expansive history of lore, D&D needed something that would re-kindle the magic for seasoned players and inspire new fans from attendees who’d never played before. Working with Dungeon Masters, Campaign veterans, and interactive immersive gaming experts, GreatCo developed a quest in the spirit of LARPing to achieve a refreshing, enthralling take on D&D.

The quest, “Devil’s Deal,” was designed with 6 mini challenges, taking place throughout the city of Lucca as well as in an actual 16th Century dungeon, incorporating highly recognizable props, authentic decor, and vibrant cosplayers to guide, cajole, and entertain guests along the way.

Regardless of one’s initial interest in D&D, “Devil’s Deal,” gave guests a chance to play at any level, experience the world of D&D outside the character sheet, and leave with visions of 20 sided dice.
